What are we to say about this artwork? [Is it artwork at all?] Assuming that it is, we should ask what it says about the purpose and intention of art. I understand art to be a form of communication between the artist and the beholder (viewer), and the success of that communication depends on the partnership between artist and beholder. If the content of the artwork is secret to no one but the artist, what is being communicated by the artist? Perhaps there is a meta-level of content being conveyed—the artwork appears to be conceptual, being unconcerned with the visual aesthetic features. i leave it to you.
