What kind of picture of an apple would afford recognition of that apple in front of me?
I think that just about everyone who looks at these pictures can recognize each one as being of an apple. But each picture has been rendered in a different style—different styles afford different limitations for the artist, as well as what the picture can "do." Despite these caveats, recognition can occur almost immediately. What makes this possible?
